Wedding Photography celebrating the Independence of the Adventurous, Cosmopolitan Bride serving New York, Connecticut and the Hamptons - based in Rye, NY
This weekend, I kicked off my 2016 wedding season with one of the sweetest and most beautiful weddings I’ve ever photographed! Jessica and Rich tied the knot in an intimate upper east side ceremony before dancing the night away at the Battery Gardens Restaurant with the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan skyline glimmering just outside the ballroom windows.
Jessica and I hit it off from the second we met. See, she’s a figure skater… and I’m kind of an obsessive figure skating fan… so I just prayed she didn’t think I was a crazy fan-girl after we first met. Luckily she wasn’t scared off and I had the honor of photographing her uber stylish Manhattan affair on Friday. From Jessica’s vintage Oscar de la Renta gown with floral applique to Rich’s indigo tuxedo with black lapels, the entire day was a photographer’s dream… and when the iconic Waldorf Astoria upgraded the bride to the Elizabeth Taylor suite, it was like icing on an already perfect cake.
Jessica and Rich have such an easy joy and sense of humor when they’re together that rubs off on everyone around them. Their wedding day was truly about what matters most, a celebration of their most important family and friends without any fluff. It was a perfect blend of family, work family, skating family and dear friends. I’m only sad that it has come and gone so quickly!!
Enjoy the highlights from your wedding day! I’m so happy to have shared it with you!!
Her simple cameo heirloom necklace from her great grandmother suited the dress so well! Understated elegance at it’s finest!
The handsome groom…
What a beauty!!
I love the varied palette of the bridal party look. There’s something very regal about not matching all the maids…
Jessica and Rich shared their first look inside the Park Avenue entrance to the famous Waldorf Hotel!
Love this one!
The Upper East Side ceremony was officiated by Jessica’s boss, a trained auctioneer at Sotheby’s! He was great!
Yay!! Time to dance in the streets and celebrate!
We strolled through Central Park for a few post-ceremony portraits before making our way downtown to Battery Gardens for the reception.
The day wouldn’t be complete without a quick stop at the place where it all began…
A close friend sang their first dance song – one of my favorite parts of the whole evening!!
