Getting Engaged? The Pros and Cons of a Winter Engagement Session
Magical Winter Engagement Photos

The wedding venues may be a little quieter this time of year but winter is full blown engagement season!! You can hardly walk by a skating rink in New York City without stumbling into a future groom down on one knee popping the ultimate question… there’s a magic in the air as the holiday season heats up!

So there’s a sparkly new ring on your finger, the wedding date is booked, your photographer is hired… the next question on your list…. should you wait until the weather heats up to take those engagement pictures or get out in front of the camera while the snow still covers the ground?

The obvious cons for a winter engagement session – it’s cooooolllld! It’s hard to rock that cute little dress and heels that you might have imagined you’d wear for your session in the snow… but if you’re willing to think outside the box, winter engagement sessions can be absolutely magical!

  1. It’s easy to incorporate props like warm blankets, hot cocoa, cute mittens and colorful scarves and hats into your attire
  2. They’re unique! Your photographs will be different than most of your friends who wait for warmer weather.
  3. They’re cozy! Cuddling up to stay warm won’t be a problem
  4. They’re more adventurous…
  5. They’re extra romantic!
