Wedding Photography celebrating the Independence of the Adventurous, Cosmopolitan Bride serving New York, Connecticut and the Hamptons - based in Rye, NY
Last spring when I launched my new website, I added a question to my inquiry form that says “What are you passionate about?” It’s not there to be pretentious and it’s not even a required field on the form, it’s really just meant to help start a conversation between us before we even get on the phone. And more importantly, to make sure the brides who hire me to photograph their weddings are people I’d want to be friends with regardless of their wedding photography. When Christina’s inquiry popped into my inbox last summer, I did a double take. She and Demian enjoyed skiing, tennis, a glass of wine and travel… it was like… does she know me? Is she here? ha ha! These are exactly the things I would have written had somebody asked me a similar question! I felt like we were already kindred spirits…
After Demian proposed atop Telluride Mountain last spring, the pair began planning their New York City wedding, and finally their life together in the same city after years of long distance romance. They met at William & Mary’s law school and traveled between DC and New York to be together before Christina finally moved back to New York City. Their wedding on Saturday was a glamorous celebration of their families, their love and their life together! Christina and her mom both wore Carolina Herrera gowns for the nuptial mass at the one and only Cathedral of St. Patrick on 5th Avenue. A wedding that could only be held there because Christina’s parents and grandparents also got married in the landmark Cathedral. After renovations on the building concluded this fall for the Pope’s visit, the church was ready to be used for weddings once again… theirs was one of the first over the last three years! And let me tell you, the place was gleaming! I can only imagine what it felt like to walk down that mile long marble aisle as a bride!!
Christina & Demian, I’m so happy for you and I hope I run into you on a ski slope in Colorado one day! I was truly honored to be there with you this weekend and hope you enjoy these highlights from your amazing wedding!! The University Club has never looked better!! Congrats!!
