Wedding Photography celebrating the Independence of the Adventurous, Cosmopolitan Bride serving New York, Connecticut and the Hamptons - based in Rye, NY
Drooling over those gorgeous ring shots on your photographer’s blog? Or the way the paper pieces are perfectly styled together with the wedding jewelry? The truth is, photographers love spending time setting up all of your gorgeous wedding day details to help tell the your story cohesively with the event itself. Unfortunately, these stunning shots only happen if the bride takes a little extra time to plan for them to be executed. This summer I’ve been sharing advice on how to improve your wedding photographs without hiring a different photographer.
One of the easiest ways to give your photographer a head start is to organize all of your details the night before… create a “bridal bag” to collect all the important pieces so they are ready to pass along when your photographer arrives. Make sure to keep all the rings in the bridal suite before the wedding, pass the rings along to the best man or ring bearer before the ceremony so they are together with the engagement ring to be documented. Don’t forget to include the invitation suite and all the important paper pieces. Have your calligrapher create an extra envelope address to include in the photographs… you can even use a dummy address if you want. Make sure to communicate all of the important pieces so your photographer knows what to highlight and which elements have the most sentimental meaning to the day. Lastly, make sure to schedule your floral delivery ahead of the photographer’s arrival so the bouquets and boutonnieres’ are ready to shine!
